Crises at 21

Most students doing a professional course in India complete their undergraduate studies at around the age of 21. Engineering is a one such professional course that has the ability to drive its students away from their field of expertise, which they chose as an undergrad.

Every engineer, irrespective of their branch (most branches), can enter the software field. This makes most students wonder what is it that they gained from studying things that are absolutely unnecessary in their career.  Oh and there are others who give up technical studies completely at the end of engineering. A complete change in their outlook, from when they stared engineering. Only a handful continue in their field of expertise and these people are looked upon with wonder by their peers.

Now what is this crisis I mention? It is for those who don't know what they want anymore at the end of engineering. They are clueless and without any drive. Living life as it comes and looking upon their friends who are in a rush applying for foreign universities and preparing for entrance exams with envy. They have something driving them. Some need. This leaves them wondering where did all their passion go or how is that others maintain their ambition through the kill joy called engineering?

I wonder too.
So what is the solution for this lost souls I ask. Some tell time will tell and some sigh and tell me they will have to figure it out. So there is no one to guide yo when you are lost. Just some times someone's words trigger some thought in you. So all you can so is wait and be observant, so as to not to miss that trigger.

So I'll make sure to remember everyone starts at point where they do not know what they want and ones those who find their calling are the ones who kept looking.

Crisis at 21 is just a tunnel with light at the end after all. ( Hopefully not the light of a train :P )
